Goodwill Games

Whiteface Mountain hosted the Men's Downhill, Freestyle Mogulsand Snowboard events for Halfpipe, Snowboard Cross and Super G at the 2000 Winter Goodwill Games. The fifth highest peak in New York, Whiteface looms over the Champlain Valley and boasts the greatest vertical drop in the East at 3350 feet.

New this year, Whiteface has installed a Gondola that gives spectators access to trails via the luxury of an eight-passenger heated cabin. Skiers and riders can view the day time competition from designated areas along each course, as well as ski and ride the rest of the mountain at their leisure. Non-skiers and riders are welcome to walk or take a chairlift ride to the finish areas.

Services:
First Aid and Ski Patrol are staffed full-time in the Base Lodge and Kids Kampus Lodge, with additional locations at the Mid- Station Lodge, summit of Little Whiteface, summit of Whiteface, and the Mountain Run Slalom Finish Building.

Ski Shop in Base Lodge is open daily from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.. Rentals available in Shop on first floor of Base Lodge

Nursery at Kids Kampus for children ages 1 to 6. Cost is $8 per hour, or $35 per day. Open 8 a.m. to 4 a.m.

Guest Services is located next to the ski school from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Base Lodge.
