With 72 of the world's best track cyclists heading to Brisbane for the 2001 Goodwill Games, the Cycling program promises to be a highlight of the 12-day sporting extravaganza.

The competition will run over two action-packed days and will include the men's sprint, scratch race, points race, Kierin, Madison and elimination, and women's sprint, scratch race, points race and elimination.

All events will be held at the Chandler Velodrome over the weekend of September 1-2. The Velodrome will undergo resurfacing in preparation for the Games, leaving Brisbane residents with a world-class facility after the Games.

With Australia's success in the Kierin and Madison events at the Sydney Olympics, the Goodwill Games Cycling program will showcase the strength, endurance and strategy involved in the sport which promises to be a crowd favourite.
