Wayne Goss is the former Premier of Queensland and Chairman of the 2001 Goodwill Games Brisbane board for the Goodwill Games. He is responsible for the corporate management of the Games and delivering successful outcomes for the Queensland Government.
Wayne Goss is a celebrated Queenslander. At 48 years of age, he has already made a great success of his life, with more goals still to achieve.
He qualified in Law from the University of Queensland and for many years provided legal assistance to the under privileged and minorities. He entered State Parliament in 1983 and very soon established his credentials as a man with vision and drive.
In 1989 Wayne Goss ended over 30 years of Conservative Government when he became Labor Premier. He led a revisionist Government, which built an impressive record in developing the State's resources, especially tourism, mining and agriculture.
Eager for further challenges, Mr. Goss quit politics and took on a Master of Business Administration degree, once again at Queensland University. Combining his intimate knowledge of Government, Industry and International Business, Mr. Goss has forged a new and dynamic career.
His experience and drive will be pivotal to the success of the 2001 Goodwill Games in Brisbane in 2001.
