Brisbane BMW Boosts Games Sponsor Family
Another high profile company has joined the
growing ranks of the 2001 Goodwill Games sponsor family 2001
Team Goodwill.
Queensland Premier Peter Beattie today announced
Brisbane BMW as an Official Provider to the Goodwill Games.
2001 Goodwill Games chairman Wayne Goss said
Brisbane BMW would provide five vehicles for transporting
VIPs at Games time, from August 29 to September 9.
Brisbane BMW will also donate a brand new MINI
Cooper to be auctioned at the Games' spectacular Splash of
Rouge Ball at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre
on August 25. Proceeds from the auction will go to the Abused
Child Trust.
"The highest bidder will be one of the
first in Australia to own a new MINI Cooper and will be presented
with a unique stuffed "mini MINI" until the real
thing arrives in the country," Mr Goss said.
"The auction will be a great way to own
a 21st century remake of a classic car and support a worthy
charity at the same time."
Mr Goss said Brisbane BMW would market the Games
to its thousands of core customers.
"Brisbane BMW's support will bring the
Goodwill Games to a key end of the market in Queensland,"
Mr Goss said.
"Through spreading the word about the Goodwill
Games, Brisbane BMW will play a valuable promotional role
in the final countdown to the Games."
The five vehicles Brisbane BMW is providing
the Goodwill Games will be driven by a team of volunteers.
Brisbane BMW's sponsorship of the 2001 Goodwill
Games will also include a display at the Games' Global Village
precinct at South Bank.
The display will feature the rare Z8 model,
as well as a number of other premium BMW vehicles. Three large
plasma screens will run daily with visuals from Formula One
Racing, model launch videos and the latest in motoring technology.
"We are thrilled Brisbane BMW has joined
our sponsor family and we thank them for their support,"
Mr Goss said.
