Retailers Get RED-dy for Games
Retailers are being urged to show their support
for the 2001 Goodwill Games
by showing just how RED they can be.
RED - paint the town is the celebration program of
the 2001 Goodwill Games and businesses are encouraged to dress
their premises and staff in the Games colour.
2001 Goodwill Games Marketing and Sponsorship
Manager Phil Whittaker said this would create a festive atmosphere
throughout the city and ensure visitors to Brisbane received
a warm welcome.
"To get into the theme of the Goodwill
Games, retailers can give their stores a splash of red by
draping them with banners, posters, ribbons and balloons,"
he said.
"Staff are also encouraged to clad themselves
in RED shirts, hats, ties, socks - any apparel to make them
redder than ever."
To make the task easier, the 2001 Goodwill Games
has joined forces with Lombard Events to produce a range of
colourful and distinctive point of sale decorations, including
posters, banners, friezes, window decals and balloons.
More than 100 businesses have already risen
to the challenge and purchased Goodwill Games packs to decorate
their stores, including Coca-Cola, Teds Camera Store, the
ALH Group of Hotels and Suncorp Metway branches across the
city.
