Men’s and Women’s

All Days - $38 and $24

The world’s best gymnasts will compete in all-around, individual apparatus and mixed team events. Athletes from traditional gymnastic powerhouses, including USA, China and Romania, will compete for the gold medal and the financial reward that comes with it. Olympic and world champions Dominique Dawes of the U.S., Naoya Tusukahara of Japan, Ivan Ivankov of Belarus, Simona Amanar of Romania and Meng Fei of China have confirmed their participation.

FORMAT:

  • Two groups of six compete in all-around (12 men and 12 women total)
  • Eight athletes compete in all-around apparatus final
  • Athletes will be invited to compete in specific events or all events
  • The mixed competition will consist of teams composed of one male and one female from the same country on each mixed team (12 total teams)
  • Medalists from the 1998 Games, special guests and Goodwill Games alumni will take part in a gymnastics exhibition on the final evening

HIGHLIGHTS OF GYMNASTICS AT THE GOODWILL GAMES

Goodwill Games gymnastics alumni include: Shannon Miller, Kim Zmeskal, Liliya Podkopayeva and Vitali Scherbo.

  • 1994: Aleksei Nemov of Russia won more medals than any other athlete in the Games: four gold, one silver and one bronze.
  • 1990: The Soviet Union's Natalya Kalinina scored a surprise upset over teammate Svetlana Boginskaya in the women's all-around.
  • 1986: The Soviet Union swept the gold medals in the individual and team competitions.
