women from Australia, USA, Russia, Britain, New Zealand and around the world will compete)

The worlds best triathletes in the "Olympic" format (1 km swim; 40 km
bike; 10 km run) will compete in a scenic journey that will start with a swim in the New
York Harbor at Battery Park City, bike to Central Park and culminate in a run through the
park. The top three female and male finishers from the World Championships have qualified,
including: Emma Carney, Jackie Gallagher and Michellie Jones in the womens division
and Chris McCormack, Hamish Carter and Simon Lessing in the mens division.

Start: 7:00am (Battery Park)
Finish: 10:00am (Central Park, Tavern on the Green)
HIGHLIGHTS OF TRIATHLON AT THE GOODWILL GAMES
- 1994: With many spectators lining the running and cycling courses of
St. Petersburg, Russia, Great Britain's Simon Lessing won the men's competition, and
France's Isabelle Mouthon took home the women's crown.
- 1994: The first triathlon competition at the Goodwill Games.
