Womens National Soccer Team To Hold Practice at Giants Stadium in Preparation for
Goodwill Games

What:
In preparation for their Goodwill Games competition, the Olympic Champion U.S.
Womens National Team will hold a special practice at Giants Stadium on Wednesday,
July 22. The players will participate in an hour-long practice and then will be available
for media interviews. The Goodwill Games soccer competition, which takes place July 25 and
26, will match up the United States, China, Norway and Denmark for a world-class soccer
showdown.
Giants Stadium is the host site for the 1999 FIFA
Womens World Cup Opening Ceremonies and opening game. The Honorable Christine
Todd Whitman, Governor of New Jersey and member of the Womens World Cup Advisory
Board, is scheduled to attend and participate in a presentation following practice.
