official athletic shoe of the 2001 Goodwill Games,
which are hosted this year by Brisbane, Australia,
Goodwill Games officials announced today. New
Balance joins previously announced exclusive sponsors
DaimlerChrysler's Jeep divison, Gillette's Duracell
brand, Philips Electronics, Qantas and Foster's.

Eight
of the world's top athletes took part in a promotional
shoot for on-air vignettes for the 2001 Goodwill
Games, Monday, April 23, and Tuesday, April 24,
in Los Angeles, Calif. The shoot featured some
of the top athletes from the 14 sports featured
in this year's Games, which will be hosted by
Brisbane, Australia. Stars from athletics, swimming,
gymnastics, beach volleyball, diving and basketball

To Provide Live Coverage from Brisbane, Australia

Turner Network Television (TNT)
will present 83 hours of original programming
from the 2001 Goodwill Games in Brisbane, Australia,
55 hours (66%) of which will be live. In addition
to the 12 straight days of live coverage, TNT
will also air an additional 37 hours of encore
performances, giving the network a total of 120
hours of competition and 31 hours in prime time.
The announcement was made today by Turner Sports
President Mark Lazarus.
