On July 17, 1997, Olympic Gold Medalist Jackie
Joyner-Kersee, TBS Superstation and the 1998 Goodwill Games
joined forces to help the Boys & Girls Clubs of America
assist children in need with the SuperChallenge, a fund-matching
program designed to generate one million hours of volunteer
time and $1 million for the nation's no. 1 youth organization.
For each hour generated, the Goodwill Games donated $1 to
he Boys & Girls Clubs of America.
- $2,926,179 was raised
- $3,495,926 volunteer hours were pledged
