Women’s Competition

All Days - $38, $24

The world’s eight best rhythmic gymnasts, including Yelena Vitrichenko of the Ukraine, will compete at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum for individual apparatus and all-around titles.

FORMAT:

  • Eight athletes compete for medals in both an all-around competition and individual apparatus finals (four apparatus)
  • Four events are: rope, hoop, clubs and ribbon

July 23 - 7:30pm-10:30pm

Final All-Around (rope, hoop, clubs, ribbon)

July 24 - 7:30pm-10:00pm

Final Individual Apparatus (rope, hoop, clubs, ribbon)

HIGHLIGHTS OF RHYTHMIC GYMNASTICS AT THE GOODWILL GAMES

  • 1990: The Soviet Union's Oksana Skaldina captured the gold in the all-around, as well as individual gold medals in the rope and ball events.
  • 1986: Only East Germany's Bianca Dittrich broke the Soviet medal strangle hold, performing flawlessly to share top honors with Soviets Tatyana Druchinina and Marina Lobach in the rope event.
